Shady Dell Train Park

If your children are into trains like Owen, Shady Dell Train Park in Molalla, Oregon is one of those places that turns a regular day into something very special. It’s hidden away on a four-acre property and run by the Pacific Northwest Live Steamers.

Free miniature train rides. Need I say more? Yep, the place is full of real steam-powered, electric, and diesel trains that are scaled down just enough to sit on. Enjoy a ride through tunnels, over bridges, and around the park. With multiple train routes and unlimited rides, plan on spending hours here.

It even has a snack stand and a tiny gift shop. So, if you want to grab a treat or a train-themed souvenir to support their passion. Since the park admission and rides were all free, we had no hesitations supporting their organization with our many purchases.

If you’re looking for a low-key, high-fun outing in Oregon that doesn’t cost a dime and delivers big smiles, this is definitely worth the trip.
