If you’re looking for a scenic, easy nature stop near Portland, Oregon, then Multnomah Falls is a great pick. Located about 30 miles east of the city in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, it’s one of Oregon’s most popular waterfalls—and for good reason.
Parking can be tight, especially on weekends. Arrive early or consider using the shuttle from Portland.
This is a great spot to go with your kids. The trail to the bridge is short and safe, and there’s no need to commit to a long hike unless you want to. It’s a great way to break up a drive through the Gorge or spend a couple of hours outside without a big time investment.
