Our main reason for visiting Knoxville, Tennessee was to see my old friend of 20+ years, Cat Perkins! Cat passed away in 2023 – we were so lucky to be fortunate enough to return to Tennessee one last time.
If you are ever in Knoxville, please visit her beautiful giant redbud tree that we dedicated to her at the Gardens at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.

Matt drove our rented wheelchair accessible van the whole weekend, up and down the winding roads in the mountains. We would have preferred a smaller vehicle to explore the mountains, but the handicap accessibility was essential.

Main Event
Cat took us to Main Event where Owen played games and won lots of stuffed animals. The venue featured a full bar, restaurant, and even a bowling alley. We didn’t stay for a game of bowling, but it looks like fun.

Sunsphere
We visited the Sunsphere, overlooking the expansive World’s Fair Park. (Family Tip: There was a top-notch playground nearby too.) We would have loved to visit the top to see the amazing view, but Covid restrictions limited the number of people allowed inside at a time. We should have purchased tickets in advance to guarantee a visit at your preferred time!

Our trip to Tennessee was far too short, and visiting again will never be the same. Another vacation and another flight for Owen to enjoy.
