We love a good tourist trap, and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee is among the best in the country!
Frizzle Chicken
We had breakfast at Frizzle Chicken, which featured singing animatronic birds.
The birds broke first broke into chicken-led rendition of “Sweet Caroline.” We couldn’t decide whether to laugh or stare in awe, but either way, everyone was entertained.
Each chicken had a pun-tastic name, just as “Pat Henatar”and “J.K. Fowling”, both show in the image below. Matthew, being a Harry Potter fan, liked J.K. the best.
The food itself was typical diner fare — fluffy pancakes, crispy bacon, and extra strong coffee. From the moment that we arrived to the time that we left, the place was packed, and it was easy to see why it’s become such a quirky Pigeon Forge favorite.

Goats on the Roof
Next we visited Goats on the Roof and rode the mountain coaster.

“Goats on the Roof” is one of those places you just have to stop at — mostly because there are actual goats walking around on the roof. You can also feed them by pedaling a little “goat-cycle” that sends food up in a bucket. It is way more fun than it sounds, even if you’re a bit exhausted afterwards

Inside, the gift shop is packed with southern souvenirs, homemade fudge, and ice cream that hits the spot on a hot day. There’s even gem mining outside if you want to dig around for a bit.
The real thrill, though, is the Goat Coaster — a mile-long alpine ride (or “summer toboggan” coaster) where you control the speed as you wind through the trees.

“Goats on the Roof” is weird, fun, and totally Pigeon Forge — the kind of place that makes you smile even if you didn’t plan to stop.
